Looking for a vegan restaurant in Clapham? Brand new to Clapham North is a vegan restaurant, offering an array of indulgent plant-based comfort food and unique vegan cocktails. The Meet offers a range of popular options as a vegan alternative that even non vegans and big meat lovers will be drooling over.
The Meet is open daily and offers a wide range of food including small sharing plates, burgers, indulgent milkshakes, bottomless vegan brunch and Sunday roasts on the weekend. Anyway, so I went for brunch with my partner and we thoroughly indulged and my goodness it was good.
To start the meal we firstly tried a selection of small plates. These included:
A Nugget Of Gold – Southern fried seitan nuggets with sweet curry sauce. These looked and tasted like ‘chicken’ nuggets, with a perfect combination of flavour.
MacDaddyO Mac & ‘cheese’ – this came plain or with ‘chorizo’. There was perfect bread crumb top, and the ‘cheese’ was a perfect stringy thick consistency. Sometimes I am overwhelmed at food like this can be vegan!!
Three’s A Party – Trio of hummus including classic, zataar and sundried tomato with a selection of bread. Hummus is definitely one of my favourites and this selection combined all the most scrumptious flavours.
Next moving on to the main course. I went for a burger and was absolutely gobsmacked when it came out. This burger was HUGE and came with all the extras. Mc Who? included soya ‘cheese’ burger with a special blend of herbs & spices, ‘bacon’ rashers, onion rings, burger sauce, gherkins & salad served in an artisan produced bun. It was a taste sensation and SO filling.
We also ordered a wrap, Jerkin’ Around which included jerk style organic tofu, pineapple salsa, sweet plantain, scotch bonnet ‘mayo’ & gem lettuce, served in a toasted wrap, and sweet potato fries. The fries were not needed, the portions are huge and you will not be left hungry!
The to finish we ordered a Nutty Chocolate Brownie Milkshake which included real chocolate brownie & toasted hazelnuts blended with ice-cream. This was the best vegan milkshake I have ever tasted. The brownie was blended just enough so you could still chew on it, and the ice-cream was so milky and rich.
Overall I cannot recommend this place enough. The service was excellent, the food is to die for, the atmosphere was alive and the food is reasonably priced. It is also worth noting they do a vegan bottomless brunch for £15 for an hour and half on weekends.
Let me know what you thought to this, or if you know any great vegan brunch and foodie spots…
Love, A x
