This weekend I had the ultimate brunch. Three delicious courses over looking the beautiful panoramic sites of London at Oblix, within the Shard.
Situated on the 32nd floor, this restaurant boasts charm and elegance, as well as showcasing how beautiful London really is.
*Top tip* If you want to brunch, make sure to book the lounge area not the restaurant, this is not obvious on the website…
I have wanted to try the brunch at Oblix for so long, and it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk out of the lift and into the restaurant the whole experience is exclusive.
The brunch menu is £55 for three courses, which includes unlimited starters and deserts, one main dish and any side. But the food was exceptional and rich and pure delightful to eat.
I chose to try a mixture of pesto tomato salad, smoked salmon, grilled Mediterranean vegetables and prawns.
For the mains there was the choice of standard brunch food such as eggs Royale (my favourite and the lady next to us ordered it and it looked insane) or other general mains.
I decided to go for a fishcake with poached egg on a bed of spinach. Dining with me was my boyfriend who chose steak with fried egg and hashbrown. There was a choice of three sides including Mac and cheese, chips and broccoli. We got all three because it was included – wooo!!
When all the food came we could not believe our eyes! It was all so scrumptious. I wish my poached egg had been a bit more gooey but it tasted incredible.
We definitely didn’t need three sides the food was definitely enough.
On to the deserts were again a lovely range of cakes, cheesecakes, fresh fruit and merguines.
The booking is for two hours and once we had finished our meal and relaxed with a coffee the two hours had flown by and we definitely needed a walk before falling in to a food coma! That’s the sign of a good meal…
I honestly could not recommend this place any more. Our overall bill including service came to just over £120, so it is definitely on the expensive side of things but for a special occasion this place would be perfect.
Take a look at Oblix here.
Let me know what you think to Oblix or if you fancy going?
