Cocktails at City Social

If you are looking for a bar and restaurant that has that extra special edge with stunning views over London, then I recommend City Social. Situated within the iconic skyscraper Tower 42 in the City of London, this venue is designed by Jason Atherton and features art deco style interiors against the backdrop of central London.

You enter this top floor restaurant via their unique lifts, and as soon as you walk out and enter City Social you will immediately see The Gherkin, Sky Garden and The Shard.

I had heard some seriously cool things about the cocktails, so decided to head here at 4pm on a Saturday to enjoy the views before the dining rush. This place is very popular so make sure to book in advance, the bar itself opens at 4pm on weekends.

The cocktails range from £12 to £29 per drink, so this is definitely somewhere on more of the expensive side but the quality and taste of them is worth the money. Recently, they have bought out the worlds first augmented reality cocktail called the ‘Mirage’ range. By using the specially designed app, the cocktails come alive with cartoons. IT IS VERY COOL!

This cocktail was called ‘A Damson In A Stress’ which cost £13 and came with some ‘hate mail’. Each time drink is ordered, the note is hand written by the bar man, mine said McDonalds is not a romantic meal! I must agree with that one…

I seriously loved how imaginative the cocktails were. This next one was ‘Marvellous Medicine’ and cost £13.50. To drink this, I had to add the contents of the pill to the bottle and shake. Then after 30 seconds, pour it over a block of ice. Wow it tasted amazing!

This place would be perfect for a romantic meal or special celebration, or even if you would like to grab a delicious cocktail and take in the views.

Let me know if this is somewhere you would like to visit? Or have any suggestions of where I can go next time…

Lots of love, A x
