Lunch in an Igloo, at Coppa Club

Earlier this week I had lunch in quite possibly the coolest place yet. Where was that you might wonder?… In a pop up Igloo! This unique experience can be found at Coppa Club next to Tower Bridge. The Igloos are positioned on the south-facing terrace that catches the sun all day, making this the best experience to do throughout the day (and night). The views were fantastic – looking straight out onto the Thames.

On the day I went to Coppa Club, it was freezing and knowing we were going to be sitting outside I was worried it was going to be cold, but these domes held the heat and were actually super toasty.

Myself and my partner shared a few plates from the sharing menu, because honestly we could not decide on all the scrumptious food. We went with Kiln Salmon on sourdough, crispy fried Squid and seared garlic King Prawns accompanied with Fries and a House Salad. Huge fish fans over here, especially when Calamari is on the menu. The food was divine, seriously good!! To be honest we could have eaten more…

The Salmon especially was so tasty, our mouths were both watering as we were eating it.

If your group is 6 or more, then you get an Igloo to yourself. Any less than that and you will share with someone else, especially in busy periods. We shared with another couple but you really don’t notice it. There is also the opportunity to play your own music, which is a really nice little extra.

You can have the Igloos for up to 2 hours, but as this experience is very popular you definitely need to book it first. Generally it is easier to get a booking in the week as weekend slots fill up quickly. This experience I might add is only available until the 31st of March as it is a pop up – so get in there quick!

Coppa Club itself was a wonderful restaurant with real character and charm. The brass bar sits prominently in the centre of the room with 360 access. I can imagine this is a real hot spot to come in the evening.
