I love Winter Wonderland and it’s somewhere I go every year with my dad as something we do together. This is time I get to spend with him, catching up and drinking copious amounts of mulled wine. Ideally, I personally like to go 2 weeks before Christmas, as you will always leave here super ready for December the 25th. But those of you who are keen christmas beans can go anytime, as it’s still magical.
So here is a snapshot of Winter Wonderland 2016…
One of my favourite things about this time of year, is ALL the mulled wine. This is hands down my favourite alcoholic beverage, especially when it’s piping hot and the weather is really chilly – delicious!
Just behind the wine is one of the many fire pits at Winter Wonderland. This year, they are selling marshmallows to roast on the fire which I think is a really lovely idea.
Not that I can ice skate at all, but I love this area of WInter Wonderland and this year I head to it at the perfect time catching the sunset in the distance.
This year Winter Wonderland is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, that’s a decade of magical winter festivities. As this is London’s largest German-style Christmas Market, there are loads of outdoor styles bars and food areas. This theme is throughout the area and it really adds to the charm and fun of this christmas occasion.
I can’t forget the HUGE beer tent. In here there is constant live bands, typical german food including sausages and Sauerkraut, tasty pretzels and chips. If you are looking for a ‘healthy’ option, you won’t find it here – but then, christmas is all about indulging anyway!
This extravaganza is open from the 18th November until the 2nd of January 2017, 10am – 10pm every day! The event is free (which is rare for London) and is suitable for children and adults. There are rides, christmas stalls, circus show, Nutcracker on ice, ice skating and lots of beer stops. Take a look here…
It’s not long until christmas and you still have time to go, or go again you have been already! Let me know what you think of Winter Wonderland in the comments below…
