I must admit, I absolutely love this new craze that is sweeping over London – the bottomless brunch. Nothing can get much better than two hours of unlimited prosecco, right? Wrong! How about two hours unlimited prosecco, wine or beer? Oh and the tastiest American BBQ food… Sounds too good to be true, but it’s not. This ladies and gents is the bottomless brunch at the Big Easy in Canary Wharf.
There are four Big Easys in London but only this one offers the boozy brunch. What I love about this restaurant is the strong American theme throughout, with flags and decor. I went at 2pm on a Saturday and the atmosphere was loud and busy, which really added to the buzz of this midday drinking session.
Oh… There was a 45 minute wait for all those who had not booked in advance. Luckily I had, but this is definitely something worth taking into consideration when you go.
As you can see from the picture above, we definitely took advantage of all the beverages on offer. This is really good if you prefer beer or ale over prosecco and wine. I often think prosecco brunch limits those who aren’t that keen on it, whereas this one keeps everyone happy. Also, again unlike other brunch places they leave the bottle on your table so it’s free pour from the start! How fabulous!
Now to the food. This menu was absolutely divine. There are two options:
1. THE BIG PIG GIG – LIMITLESS BAR.B.Q – which consisted of North Carolina Chopped Pork, Pit-Smoked Bar.B.Q Chicken & St Louis Pork Ribs, ‘Slaw, Pit-Smoked Beans, Fries & Fresh Baked Cornbread
2. LOBSTER FEST – A Whole Fresh Lobster, Lobster Roll or Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese. Served with Fries & House Salad.
I went with the lb of fresh lobster. All I can say is WOW. I had never had lobster like this before, so was excited to try it. I really got stuck in and was cracking lobster here there and everywhere. But my goodness it was delicious. I never realised fresh lobster was so succulent and juicy.
On the side was chips, salad and a garlic oil dip. If you can’t tell from the photographs, there was a lot of food.
The price for this mammoth amount of food and two hours of pure prosecco joy, was £29. Yes – £29!! Absolute bargain and very worth my money. With these kind of things you never really know if you get your money’s worth, but we definitely did.
I would recommend going here for pretty much every occasion. Birthdays, anniversaries, hen dos and casual lunch. The place caters for all and that makes it so fun.
