Hidden away at the top of Selfridges in Oxford Street, is this gorgeous little rooftop restaurant. Once you step out of the designated lift, the enchanted floral theme takes you down a corridor which feels like something from a story book.
This spring-inspired restaurant, is so wonderfully bright and cute. The fairy lights coupled with the pastel coloured cushions really add to the relaxing ambiance. This seems like a world away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets below – up here you are in a world of your own.
This place, as you can imagine is very popular. When somewhere is popular, it’s busy, so the staff are swift in getting your food ordered. While it is always good to be served promptly, you do feel a little rushed in making a decision. The current terrace menu consists of everything from scrumptious burgers to cheesy risotto. However for me the smoked salmon benedict stood out (especially on a crumpet). Matched with a delightful Passionfruit juice, I was pretty content.
My eggs benedict was £8.00, side salad was £5.00 and juice was £3.00. This not including the service charge was very expensive and not something I would rush back to do soon.
This is somewhere you can come for afternoon tea, drinks or a meal. Overall, a lovely restaurant, a lovely bar, lovely atmosphere but not so lovely prices!
